Two friends and I attended today's National Secondary School Chinese Debate Competition Finals. The two friends and I were in the same debate team for this competition, but got eliminated at the first stage of the competition. We were there to get certificates for our school's participation in the competition (our school sent two teams). I was to represent the school in collecting the certificates.

We arrived at The Chinese High School, where we gave our temperature declaration forms at the reception (we took our temperatures before going). Since I was to be collecting the certificates, I was separated from my two friends.

A few minutes later the final debate began. The Proposition's motion was "Protecting the environment is more important than developing the economy." After about 1 hour of listening and laughing and thinking, the debate was over, and the judges retreated from the auditorium to decide on a winner.

After a long time, they came back, and declared the Opposition team, Raffles Girls' School, the winner. Incidentally, that was the team that beat my team in the first stage of the competition. I can say that was well earned.
