I skipped Camelot rehearsal today (with permission from Ms Wong of course) to return to NHSS for the annual Speech & Prize-Giving Day. A bunch of NHrians returning to NHSS today for the ceremony gathered at the concourse at about 2.30pm, and we went to NHSS together.
Once we had reached NHSS, some of us went off to look for friends and teachers. I met up with the other 4o1ers in the Staff Lounge, who were discussing about the 88th Anniversay Dinner cum Official School Opening, for which PM Lee would be the GOH.
There was a bit of argument over what the ACJC people should wear. ACJC blazers go with cream-coloured pants/skirts, and some of us didn't have. So the decision was made that those who could wear no. 1 (i.e. blazer) will wear no. 1, and the rest will wear no. 2 (tie, school uniform and court shoes).
At 4 plus we went up to the hall to report our attendance and move into our seats. The parents began to come in before 5pm and the ceremony started at 5.30pm with the arrival of the Guest-of-Honour. After the long Principal's Report, the prize-giving (I received $30 worth of Popular/CD Rama vouchers) and Kegan's valedictory speech, the event ended pretty much on time (at 7pm).
The main highlight of the night was the 4o1 reunion dinner at Clementi Central Pizza Hut. We had lots of fun eating and playing games. XL ended the night on a high by drinking a special concoction you wouldn't want to drink.
Long live 4o1o4!
