Council Outing

Just two days after my class outing to Sentosa, I found myself at HarbourFront MRT Station again about to meet some other Councillors for another outing to Sentosa. This time I was the first to arrive; the rest came close to the meeting time of 10am. We met Kegan at the bus terminal, and the 12 of us took the Sentosa Bus to Sentosa.

After going through the ticket barrier, we took the Monorail to Palawan Beach which was east of Siloso Beach. Stepping onto the sand of the beach, we settled down at a bench and immediately took out Kegan's beach ball to play volleyball at a court near us. After some time playing, some of the guys took a break and played cards.

After a while, all of us stopped our game and moved on to play in the water. There was an area bounded by buoys which I supposed was a safe zone to swim in as I saw Kegan and Edwin walk to the end and have the water level at the waist. (It was low tide.) With that confirmation, I walked right into the water, not caring that it is seawater. One by one the others came in too. All of us headed to the small water slide on the border of the safe zone and most of us slid off it.

After lots of fun in the water, we got onshore, washed off the seawater and bought lunch from the nearby 7-Eleven. After that meal, we used the beach ball to play volleyball again. During the game, Shao Ming joined us after SJAB in school in the morning. After the game, we got into the water again. This time it was high tide, but I still swam to the water slide (something my parents will be very much against). We then played captain's ball in the water with the Sec 4s as one team and the Sec 3s as another. It was a difficult game and the Sec 3s won. After the game, some of the Sec 3s went onshore while the others remained in the water to chat about the happenings around school.

At 5 plus, we finally went to bathe. After the bath, we were about to return to mainland and have dinner when the girls decided to go to the Southernmost Point of Continental Asia which was just close by, so some of the guys played soccer while three EXCO members and I played daidee. By the time the girls came back, it was almost 7pm. We took the Monorail back to the Visitor Arrival Centre and took the bus back to HarbourFront where we had dinner at the Seah Im Food Centre. After dinner, Kegan headed in the direction of the bus interchange while the rest took the MRT back home talking about past horrifying experiences with going to the loo and going home in the dead of the night.

4/1 Outing

Today, 4/1 had an outing to Sentosa. We met at HarbourFront MRT Station at 9.30am, after which the guy at the Control Station chased us away. There were around 18 of us who were present. We then took the Sentosa Bus from HarbourFront Bus Interchange to the Visitor Arrival Centre on Sentosa.

Once we had passed through the ticket barrier, we took the Blue Line to Siloso Beach. Once there, we took up the same spot on the beach as the last time we came to Sentosa. This time, there was a bench at the 'tent', where we gladly placed our bags. Most of us then applied sun block lotion, after which some girls went off in the direction of the toilets and the rest occupied a volleyball court on the beach. We used the beach ball Kegan brought along to play volleyball.

We stopped at noon. The guys wanted the other people to play soccer with them, but nobody replied. Some went down onto the sand to play Bridge, while I played Frisbee with 3 other people. After witnessing Veronica being buried with the sand, we decided to go out to have lunch at Sentosa Food Centre, where I had Shrimp Fried Rice and sugar cane juice.

Once we arrived back at the beach, many of them gathered around a stall outside Delifrance to buy water guns for the next programme of the day: getting wet. I wasn't that interested in going into the seawater (thanks to the sunburn experience last time), so I got myself wet at a shower point first. One by one they were tossed into the water by mainly the guys. A few people even rented kayaks for half an hour, and they had a great time kayaking.

By the time all of us got out of the water, it was 4 plus. Some changed and prepared to leave. Some of the guys played soccer with another group of people who came along. At around 6 plus, the remaining people took the Monorail and returned to mainland where the 6 of us tucked in to dinner at Seah Im. What an enjoyable day. To think I'm coming back on Thursday for Council outing!
